Carpentaria Seafaris offers employment opportunities for energetic responsible, sober of habit persons with skills suited to this fishing, boating, outdoor lifestyle based at the tip of Cape York Queensland. A love of the out doors and the desire to spend time in this magnificent remote region is essential. As well as the fishing holiday product the vessel is also used as a mobile accommodation base for contractors undertaking works in remote marine locations. Master / MED3
Suitable person/s are encouraged to apply for position of master / MED 3. Successful person needs a sound knowledge of maritime practices and engineering skills and techniques, be a passionate angler and have vessel management skills. Neat tidy appearance and team spirit required. A master / cook, or master / hostess couple would be an ideal situation and the couple could make the vessel their home.
Chef / Cook aboard the vessel
Suitable persons are encouraged to apply for position preparing and presenting set menu meals to a high professional standard for up to 20 people. Successful applicant needs to be well organized, skilled, clean, motivated, and be able to work as part of a team in a remote area. Position requires stock control and ordering. Good working galley conditions. Continental breakfasts with baked muffin etc, cooked and salad lunches, comfort food (seafood) evening meals with deserts, sashimi hors d'oeuvres.
Domestic / Hostess
Required to look after all onboard domestic arrangements, and assist the chef. Applicant needs to be energetic, well organized, clean and tidy by nature. An eye for detail and good people skills are essential.
Fishing Guide / MED3
Suitable person/s required to join our team of fishing guides and deckhands. Coxswains cert. distinct advantage. The successful person needs a sound knowledge of sport fishing practices and techniques, be a passionate skilled angler. Neat tidy appearance and team spirit required. Please email for details.
Chef / Cook contractors camp X 2 positions
Suitable sober persons are encouraged to apply to prepare and present set menu meals to a high standard for up to 30 people at our land base contractor camp. Successful applicant needs to be well organized, skilled, clean, motivated, and be able to work efficiently alone. Continental breakfasts with lunch making laid out for contractors packing and taking to job sites, large, varied nutritious buffet evening meals. Some domestic cleaning and laundry work required this position that can be rotated with vessel based position.
